Zackenberg Research Station expands

11 March 2010

Zackenberg Research Station in North-East Greenland has received a donation of five million DDK from Aage V. Jensen’s Foundation to establish a new 154 square meter research house at Daneborg, approximately 25 km southeast of Zackenberg Research Station. The house will be built during summer 2010 and be ready for use in 2011.

The house replaces the primitive facilities at the old Daneborg Weather Station, which have been used as base by the researchers since 1994. The research house is equipped with accommodation for ten people and with laboratory- and storage-facilities.
